Pregnant and postpartum women are a specialty population with an increased risk for musculoskeletal pain. Hormonal tissue laxity coupled with pregnancy related weight gain can often increase the demands on our muscles and make our joints vulnerable. New parents are often involved in repetitive lifting with the childcare, the heavy strollers and million other things. Back pain is easily the most common complaint in this camp! Good news is , a great deal of these problems can be postural and hence preventable with simple body mechanics/ergonomic interventions. The thing about back pain is that it is much easier to prevent than it is to treat , I urge every new parent and/or parent to be – Learn how to move safe and baby proof your spine so you can keep up with your kiddos pain free!!

I enjoy helping women through pregnancy and postpartum needs. With double board certifications in Orthopedic and Women’s Health Physical Therapy, I consider myself in a unique position of holding high standards for my profession and advocate for better standards of care across the board.Postpartum health is very close to my heart and my ultimate goal is to make a standard physical health check following EVERY birth. Pelvic floor is the unsung hero of our core and I specialize in the niche of optimizing it to fit individual needs be it walking your dog or running a marathon.
